Will Joe Miller Run Against Lisa Murkowski?
President Trump has promised to campaign against her
The rumor we’re hearing out of Alaska is that Joe Miller is the most likely candidate to challenge MAGA Sellout Lisa Murkowski in the 2022 Primary. Sources within the grassroots network there believe Miller will step up for a rematch with Murkowski.
Miller is an attorney who challenged Murkowski out of the Tea Party movement in 2010. After Murkoswski lost to him in the Alaska Republican Primary, she ran and won in the General Election as an independent candidate, then returned to the US Senate as a Republican.

From Wikipedia:
Before running for the Senate, Miller worked as an attorney in private general practice, a local government attorney, and a U.S. magistrate judge assisting the Alaska federal district court with its caseload. A 1995 graduate of Yale Law School, he was a combat veteran of the 1991 Gulf War, and a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He is originally from Kansas and the father of eight children; he and his wife and family moved to Alaska in the mid-1990s.
Miller was defeated by Dan Sullivan in the 2014 Republican senate primary for Alaska’s other seat.
Miller challenged Murkowski again in 2016 as the Libertarian Party candidate, receiving just under 30% of the vote in the General Election. Murkowski has never received a majority of the vote in her senate elections.

Joe Miller would make a formidable challenger to Murkowski whose support continues to slip among Alaska voters.
“Everywhere I go, people have been disgruntled with Murkowski for a long time,” said Barbara Tyndall, GOP chair for Alaska’s 3rd District, which covers the North Pole and Chena Lakes. “Everybody is saying, ‘Yes, we need a primary challenger now.’”
Meanwhile, the Murkowski Machine has also worked to change state election rules in to favor her:
Alaska also recently passed a measure approving rank choice voting, which allows people to vote for multiple candidates in order of preference rather than picking just one.
Ranked choice voting, however, is being challenged in the courts. The Alaskan Independence Party argued the system violates the right of free political association.
There are also rumors that Murkowski may leave the Republican Party before the primary and run as an Independent again. This Machiavellian move on her part is likely dependent on whether or not the previously mentioned election rules are overturned.
Perhaps the biggest factor in any Miller vs. Murkowski rematch will be former President Donald J. Trump who recently promised to campaign against her:
“I will not be endorsing, under any circumstances, the failed candidate from the great State of Alaska, Lisa Murkowski. She represents her state badly and her country even worse. I do not know where other people will be next year, but I know where I will be — in Alaska campaigning against a disloyal and very bad Senator.”
Polling in Alaska regularly shows that President Trump is more popular than Lisa Murkowski in Alaska.
Meanwhile, Joe Miller regularly updates his website with today’s news and makes his position on current events and public policy clear. He looks like a man preparing to run again.
