Democrats Bringing the Mother of All Amnesties

While Biden has flung open the borders and encouraged chaos

Democrats in DC are preparing to pass a giant amnesty that will cover every single illegal alien living inside the United States and even some who already been deported! The legislation is called the "U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021" and rewards tens of millions of people who came to the country illegally.

According to the AP:

While the plan offers one of the fastest pathways to citizenship of any proposed measure in recent years, it does so without offering any enhanced border security, which past immigration negotiations have used as a way to win Republican votes. Without enhanced security, it faces tough odds in a closely divided Congress.

The bill would immediately provide green cards to farm workers, those with temporary protected status and young people who arrived in the U.S. illegally as children. For others living in the U.S. as of Jan. 1, 2021, the plan establishes a five-year path to temporary legal status, if they pass background checks, pay taxes and fulfill other basic requirements. Then, after three years, they can pursue citizenship.

No one knows how many illegal aliens currently live in the United States. The federal government does not keep track and has no idea what the number might be. However, best estimates place the count at between 16 and 29 million. You should safely assume the number is on the high end of that range. Ignore claims that the number is 11 million.

Every fair observer admits that President Trump had very nearly gotten control of the southern border before he left office.

[Trump] had created an entirely reasonable system based on his lawful authorities to impose order at the border…During the pandemic, Trump turned around illegal crossers at the border on public-health grounds…Under Trump, the Migration Protection Protocols, also known as Remain in Mexico, ended the practice of letting Central American migrants into the US while their asylum claims were adjudicated.

Trump even created so-called “safe third-country” agreements with El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras to get asylum-seekers to apply in one of those countries. And Trump constructed over 450 miles of border wall.

The Biden Administration has ended every single one of these policies and the result has been the worst surge of illegal immigration in US history. According to a former border official:

It is clear, whether aware of the immigrant surge or not, the Biden administration has demonstrated an incapacity or unwillingness to control the United States border.

This has resulted in hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens pouring into the United States. Even those caught at the border are being released into the country. None of this is what the American people want.

The vast majority of Americans tell pollsters that the federal government should ensure Americans have decent jobs before allowing companies to import more foreign workers.

The polls show Americans’ deep and broad opposition to cheap labor migration and the inflow of temporary contract workers into the jobs needed by young and old Americans.

The multi-racial, cross-sex, non-racist, class-based opposition to cheap labor migration co-exists with generally favorable personal feelings toward legal immigrants and toward immigration in theory — despite the media magnification of many skewed polls and articles that still push the 1950’s “Nation of Immigrants” claim.

If Democrats can pass an amnesty bill, they can permanently change the electorate in America and shift the country further to the left. So how close are they?

The Democrat-controlled US House is already passing bills to help illegal aliens. Currently, under the Filibuster Rule, nothing can pass the US Senate without 60 votes but only Democrat Senators Joe Manchin (WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (AZ) stand in the way of repealing that rule. However, pressure is mounting on these two recalcitrant Democrats and no one should expect them to hold out.

High ranking Senate Democrat Dick Durbin (IL) is downplaying the hopes for passage of an amnesty bill but that isn’t stopping weak Republican senators from continuing to plot ways to get it passed:

[Lindsey] Graham said the border problems make it “much harder” to reach an agreement. He told reporters that he believes a comprehensive bill won’t succeed this year.

“It’s going to be really hard to get a bipartisan bill put together on anything that has a legalization component until you stop the flow,” he said.

Bless his heart. Senator Lindsey Graham (SC) won’t rest until he’s found a way to help his friends across the isle to add tens of millions of new Democrat voters to the rolls.
