Buzzfeed Beclowns Themselves (Again) Attacking March For Trump

The first of this week's media attacks falls flat

BuzzFeed put out an article “How This Pro-Trump Bus Tour led to the Capital Coup Attempt” trying to attack the March For Trump Bus Tour as racist insurrectionists and it is hilariously bad. Adding to the hilarity is that they put THREE different writers on the byline of an article that couldn’t even get basic facts correct like the dates of the speeches they are reporting.

It’s a triple clown show! Let’s meet the clowns!

1. “Media Editor” Craig Silverman: Might I suggest sticking to selectively editing videos Craig.

   The 20-city bus tour was organized by Women for America First, the same group that secured the permit for the Jan. 6 rally. We reviewed +20 hours of tour foootage and show how it spread lies, conspiracies and stoked fear at every stop, helping lay groundwork for the insurrection

   

2. “Senior Reporter” Jane Lytvynenko: Incredible that she could watch so much footage and still not manage to learn anything.

   Before the insurrection, Women for America First went on a bus tour around the country to spread their message. @CraigSilverman, @PranavDixit, and I watched 20 hours of footage to find out what they said at the rallies. Here’s our investigation:

3. “Correspondent” from New Delhi Pranav Dixit: Did Buzzfeed really outsource watching the video to India? Hahahahahahahahaha! To his credit Pranav didn’t even share the article which bears his name as on Monday evening.

THE FACTS:

Lie: “Behind the violent insurrection at the United States Capitol on Jan. 6 lies a group many Americans have never heard of: Women for America First.”

Fact: From later in the article: “None of Women for America First’s leaders have been charged with crimes relating to the mob violence of that day.” That’s because Women For America First and the March For Trump Bus Tour had NOTHING to do with what happened at the Capital. In fact, they weren’t even there.

Lie: The article quotes a North Carolina speaker Bob Cavanaugh saying, “We’d solve every problem in this country if on the 4th of July every conservative went and shot one liberal.”

Fact: The quote used leaves out the critical beginning of the quote. Here is the full quote with the part they left out in bold, “I jokingly told some folks at the Tea Party, we’d solve every problem in this country if on the 4th of July every conservative went and shot one liberal.”

Later in the article they actually use the same quote but accurately.

Lie: “Onstage, she regularly called out “globalists,” a term often used as an anti-Semitic dog whistle, warning people that they were on the brink of losing their country.”

Fact: The idea that the term “globalist” is a “dog whistle” for anti-semitism is laughable as BuzzFeed. The Jewish people and Israel are the embodiment of the nationalism that is the opposite of globalism.
